Carla is a qualified Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner and Collaborative Coach. She provides Collaborative Coaching, mediation and family dispute resolution in relation to family law related disputes and is able to issue section 60I certificates.
As a lawyer, Carla has seen the emotional and financial devastation that can result from engaging in litigation. Carla is passionate about assisting her clients to resolve their family law disputes in an efficient and cost-effective manner, without the need for litigation.
Carla’s unwavering commitment to helping families navigate the complexities of family law disputes and access to quality family law mediation is fuelled by her experiences and the challenges she has witnessed firsthand.
Carla was born and raised in regional New South Wales and knows the barriers regional Australians face in accessing quality dispute resolution services and support. Carla established Let’s Talk Mediations utilising technology to deliver quality dispute resolution services Australia-wide, providing services not only to clients living in Newcastle, Maitland& the Hunter Valley, and Narrabri but to those in regional and remote areas too.
As the founder of Let’s Talk Mediations, Carla is dedicated to creating an environment that promotes effective communication and fosters amicable solutions. Her warm and empathetic approach serves as a guiding light for clients, helping them navigate their family disputes with understanding and empathy.
Drawing on her extensive legal background, Carla brings a unique blend of professionalism and compassion to Let’s Talk Mediations. She offers guidance to families in need, assisting them in finding equitable resolutions to property disputes and addressing delicate parenting matters. Carla’s experience and nuanced approach provides her clients with peace of mind, knowing they are in capable hands throughout the process.

Outside of her work, Carla embraces moments spent with her family and two jackadoodles Hank and Ginger, valuing quality time and the connections that bring joy and fulfilment.
Carla volunteers as a solicitor supervisor at The University of Newcastle Legal Advice Evening Clinic. In 2023, Carla’s dedication to mentoring the next generation of lawyers was recognised when she was awarded the 2023 Australia Law Awards ‘Mentor of the Year’.
